Meet Ozzy! Ozzy is a 5 year old, 58lb Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix. He is house trained and VERY smart! He knows all kinds of tricks and commands, including sit, stay, lay down, paw, roll over and crawl. He loves running, swimming and biking and is always ready to play! Ozzy will chase tennis balls on land and in the water as long as youre willing to throw them and is also very happy to chase after his stuffed animals at home in the living room. Ozzy recently met with a trainer and is doing so well walking on a leash right next to his foster parents. He also completed his American Herding Breed Association instinct test and passed with flying colors! His trainers think he would do very well in a ranch setting where he has the opportunity to be a working dog, but he would be happy with any loving home that lets him run around :)  Ozzy can be a little nervous on walks around skateboards and bigger dogs, so he needs a bit of a closer eye. However he is making great progress listening and sitting when distractions walk by and he would do very well with someone who is willing to keep up with his training. When at home in his own environment Ozzy is an absolute sweetheart, he plops down for belly rubs and loves to snuggle and nuzzle his head right up to you for attention. He can be skeptical of men he doesnt know when they walk into the house unannounced, but he is very accepting (and of course willing to play!) after a proper introduction. Ozzy can get a little overwhelmed with too many dogs around, so dog parks arent his thing, but he gets along great with his two dog roommates (male and female) and should be okay with any smaller/medium dog after a proper introduction.
Ozzy  is microchipped and current on his vaccines & neutered. His adoption fee is $250 which helps cover medical expenses and supplies.
* Ozzy  will require a home visit prior to completing adoption & a meeting with our trainer prior to taking him home.
All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog.
