DNS is seeking an in vivo pharmacology Associate Scientist with experience in conducting a variety of rodent behavioral assays.The candidate will be responsible for the execution of experiments to characterize novel compounds involved in disease models of cognition, stroke, Parkinsons and other related indications.The position requires proficiency in applicable in vivo techniques (rodent handling, drug administration, blood collection, restraint, anesthesia, euthanasia, clinical observations) in common in vivo models.Proficiency in all routes of rodent drug administration (p.o., i.v., i.p., s.c., i.m., i.c.v.) and drug formulation is required.Stereotactic and other surgical experience is a plus.

Candidates will also be responsible for data analysis including statistical analysis and data presentation and must be able to both work independently and as part of a team.The selected candidate will be working in a creative, fast-paced environment that demands execution of time-dependent experiments.Thus, the candidate must have a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills and must be organized and timely with regard to data collection, meeting presentations and reports.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Minimum B.S.in neuroscience or related discipline.Hands-on experience in drug formulation, rodent behavioral testing, dosing and handling, tissue sampling and various surgical techniques Experience in statistical analysis and study design Motivated team player with a can-do attitude Good work ethic, oral and written communication skills Must be willing to work flexible hours and weekends as necessary Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus but not required.
